What: Fireworks light up South Dakota’s famous faces as Mount Rushmore National Memorial hosts an Independence Day fireworks extravaganza. Thousands of fireworks will burst over America’s Shrine of Democracy during one of the country’s most patriotic celebrations.

When: July 3, 2008. Fireworks scheduled for 9:15 p.m. MDT (11:15 p.m. Eastern or 8:15 p.m. Pacific). The satellite window will open at 9 p.m. MDT. Following the nearly 30-minute fireworks display, a taped re-feed will run until 10:30 p.m. MDT.
