

The family cabins at Legion Lake Lodge offer scenic views and plenty of adventure. Nestled among the ponderosa pines of the Black Hills, you are just steps away from fishing, boating, swimming, hiking and more. Legion Lake Lodge includes a casual dining room with a variety of burgers, sandwiches and salads to satisfy all appetites.
Departing from Blue Bell Lodge, the old-fashioned hayride takes you on back roads to a mountain meadow canyon for a chuck wagon feast. You'll have your choice of an 8 oz. choice sirloin steak or 1/3-pound hamburger along with all the fixin's including cowboy beans, cornbread and honey, potato salad, coleslaw, watermelon, cookies, chuck wagon coffee and lemonade (vegetarian option available). Throughout the evening, you'll enjoy sing-alongs and musical entertainment, and you'll get to take home your very own cowboy hat and bandana.
Note: Reservations are required for the Hayride Chuck Wagon Cookout. They must be made by 2 p.m. on the day you choose. Late reservations and walk-ons will be accommodated on a "space available" basis until 5 p.m. Arrival at Blue Bell Lodge by 5 p.m. is required, with departure at 5:30 p.m. and return back to Blue Bell Lodge around 8 p.m.
Custer State Park Resort Company offers a variety of other activities including Buffalo Safari Jeep Tours, horseback riding, mountain bike rentals and water sport rentals. The additional $125 can be applied to any of the activities in their brochure.
