The South Dakota Walleye Classic and Festival is a national event on the professional walleye fishing tour and Akaska has become a popular venue. In addition to the tournament and public weigh-ins, there are a variety of other activities to enjoy including a ranch rodeo bull-o-rama, kids games, art in the park, and the Johnny Holm Band. This five-day event showcases one of South Dakota’s truly majestic landscapes, the Missouri River. Bring the whole family and enjoy each day’s activities and professional walleye fishing. Make sure to mark your calendar and come to Akaska, South Dakota, August 10-15, 2009.
