Deadwood

The annual festival of books brings national writers, book worms, and publicists together for a weekend of book signings, lectures, readings, and panel discussions. These events are free and designed to appeal to all ages, from pre-readers to senior citizens, making it the premier literary event of the region. The festival celebrates the written word in South Dakota, extols the rich heritage of the state, and encourages authorship, literacy and reading. In the odd years the event is 2009 South Dakota Festival of Books logoheld in Deadwood, and in the even years, Sioux Falls. Come and enjoy South Dakota`s literary event of the year at the annual Festival of Books in Deadwood, October 2-4, 2009.
