Outdoorsmen travel from across the nation every year to experience the excellent quality of hunting offered in the Huron area. Some of the best pheasant hunting in the nation can be found in here! Pheasant hunting season traditionally opens the third Saturday in October each year and traditionally runs until January 1st. The daily limit is three rooster pheasants, while the possession limit stands at 15 birds.
Bird Counts are always extremely high in the Huron area.
Huron is located in east central South Dakota, which is a choice area for pheasants and makes this an accessible hub for hunters.
