In Huron, South Dakota, you’ll find more birds than people and, with over 200 pheasants per square mile, the odds of bagging your limit are definitely in your favor.
Centrally located to South Dakota’s prime pheasant habitat, Huron offers easy accessibility to public walk-in areas, private lodges, and dog-friendly hotels. You’ll also find welcoming hosts and a variety of special hunting events held throughout the season.
The Ringneck Festival and Bird Dog Challenge are the highlights of every season. In 2011, the festival will be held November 3-5 when 30 teams take to the fields for a competitive pheasant hunt. The Bird Dog Challenge, held the same weekend, tests the skills of both dogs and hunters.
