BELLE FOURCHE – In honor of the 40th Anniversary release of John Wayne’s The Cowboys, five of the cowboys will be in Belle Fourche for an outdoor screening of the movie Friday, July 27th, 2012 at dusk behind the Tri-State Museum at the Center of the Nation in Belle Fourche. Cake and coffee will be served by the Center of the Nation Business Association in celebration of the anniversary.
John Wayne’s character in the movie, a rancher abandoned by his regular help, employs 11 schoolboys to drive his cattle on a grueling 400 mile journey to Belle Fourche.
The movie will be shown on the side of a truck and anytime Belle Fourche is mentioned the audience is encouraged to cheer.
The event is open and free to the public and wheelchair accessible. Please call 605-723-1200 for more information. Soda and popcorn will be sold on the deck to benefit the Tri-State Museum Foundation.
