The Black Hills Symphony Orchestra Announces Its 2011-2012 Concert Series

Rapid City, SD September 7, 2011 – The Black Hills Symphony Orchestra (BHSO) announces the upcoming season with five concerts taking place at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. “We are very excited about our upcoming season. The series offers a wide variety of musical experiences, from popular songs to revered classics. It will be a season geared to all ages and musical tastes,” says Eric Gardner, President of Black Hills Symphony Orchestra.  This year’s line-up will be:

Ø      Stormy Weather on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 3:00PM

Join “Weather Master” Eric Gardner chasing the musical storms with the Black Hills Symphony.  Featuring the music of Beethoven, Rossini, Smetana, Vivaldi, Debussy, Grofe, as well as local talent.

Ø      Handel’s Messiah on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at  7:30PM

Black Hills Symphony and the Dakota Choral Union performing Handel’s revered oratorio.

Ø      Music from the Screen with a bit of T.R.A.S.H. on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 8:00PM

Black Hills Symphony will perform music from film television and beyond with special guest artists T.R.A.S.H. giving their unique spin on the music.
