RAPID CITY S.D.-The 39 Steps, adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan from the Movie of Alfred Hitchcock licensed by ITV Global Entertainment Limited and an original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon, is coming to the Black Hills Playhouse.
A play described as a mix of a juicy spy novel with Monty Python--where Hitchcock meets Hilarious!
In The 39 Steps, a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she's a spy. When he takes her home, she's murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called "The 39 Steps" is hot on the man's trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale!
The 39 Steps is the two-time Tony Award-winning hit show which just finished a 3 year run on Broadway and is now touring nationally. The Black Hills Playhouse puts its own spin on this creative endeavor with a brilliant cast of 4 featuring Playhouse favorites Tom Schwans, Dan Workman, Jason Reuter and Brooke Grassby who play over 140 characters in this fast-paced comedy thriller that's great fun for ages 9 to 90.
The New York Times calls it "Absurdly Enjoyable" and the Daily News says it’s “A Dizzy Delight!”
Recommended for kids 9 and up as it may not hold the attention of younger children.
