PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Office of Tourism invites all visitor-related businesses to attend the 2011 Governor’s Conference on Tourism, Jan. 19-20, in Pierre.
“South Dakota’s visitor industry has a substantial impact year after year on the state’s economy,” said Melissa Miller, director of the Office of Tourism. “The conference is a time to reflect on this success, learn from industry experts on ways to leverage new trends and technologies, and plan for the coming year.”
The annual conference will feature expert-led sessions on a variety of topics, including tips for online marketing, public relations, social media, and research. New marketing plans for 2011 will be presented, and the 2010 visitor spending figures will be revealed.
“As we get ready for the year ahead, the Governor’s Conference on Tourism is the perfect place to renew our energy, connect with industry partners and gear up for the peak visitor season,” Miller said.
