WATERTOWN, S.D. - The 3rd Annual Uptown Festival of Arts & Crafts has been scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2010 in Watertown, S.D. This outdoor festival takes place in the Uptown district of Watertown and features artist demonstrations, craft booths, food and beverage vendors, cultural entertainment, kid’s activities and more! On June 12th, visitors are invited to meet the artists and crafters as they showcase their work – it is a day in Watertown to celebrate art and inspire artists of all ages!
The Redlin Art Center is pleased to announce that each artist or crafter that registers for a booth at the Uptown Festival of Arts & Crafts will be invited to display one piece of art at the Redlin Art Center. This temporary exhibit will be on display within the Redlin Art Center’s gallery from May 31st through July 4th. Visitors to the Redlin Art Center will be invited to view the vast array of art in categories ranging from sculpture to glass to photography and more.
The Redlin Art Center is excited to showcase the work of artists and artisans from across the region. Julie Ranum, Executive Director of the Redlin Art Center said, "We are excited to work with the the Uptown Festival of Arts and Crafts. We hope it will prove to be an opportunity for many artists to share their work with a whole new audience; and it is a fun way to encourage visitors to return to Watertown for the Uptown Festival on June 12th." The Redlin Art Center welcomes close to 20,000 visitors per month during the summer season.
