PIERRE, S.D. - The 2010 edition of the Great Lakes of SD Tourism Association’s Great Lakes Visitor’s Guide is hot off the press. Highlighting what we have to offer to tourists along the Missouri River is the top goal of the visitor’s guide which is already being distributed at sports shows and through inquiries coming into the Great Lakes office.
Outdoor recreation is a large contributor to the economic status of this Central South Dakota region and this is just one more way for the word to get out to potential visitors. The Great Lakes Tourism Association will be attending four sports shows to promote Central South Dakota. Representatives will be traveling to Omaha, Des Moines (Pheasant Fest), Sioux Falls and to the Minneapolis Northwest Sport Show to lure those outdoor enthusiasts and vacationers to this great area. In addition, the visitor guide will be distributed at four more sports shows through the SD Travel Show Coop. Those shows are Kansas City, Minneapolis Camping & RV Show, Milwaukee Sentinel Sports Show and the Minneapolis Sports Show.
Additional marketing efforts include Gary’s Howey’s Outdoorsmen Adventures, print and web advertising, cultural & historic promotions and group travel marketing.
The Great Lakes of SD Tourism Association promotes all areas of tourism in the 17 counties along the Missouri River from the North Dakota to Nebraska borders.
