– The South Dakota Office of Tourism is offering
South Dakota businesses an updated opportunity to attract visitors. The Group Tour Planning Guide is being revised, and South Dakota businesses that want to be included can be listed for a fee.
The guide reaches nearly 4,500 tour operators around the globe and provides a comprehensive overview of group destinations and attractions statewide. It also contains maps and mileage charts, sample itineraries, escort notes and listings of attractions, accommodations, casinos, restaurants and services.
“A fully-loaded motor coach tour of 46 passengers, making an overnight stay, contributes up to $12,000 to the local economy from meals, lodging and other spending by tour participants,” said Richard Benda, secretary of the Department of Tourism and State Development. “Getting those buses to stop in our communities, whether for lunch, to tour a museum, or an overnight stay, means added income for businesses, communities and the state.”
Businesses wishing to be listed in the Group Tour Planning Guide should contact Vicky Engelhaupt before Feb. 3, 2010. Engelhaupt can be reached at (605) 773-3301 or firstname.lastname@example.org
