PIERRE, S.D. – The 2010 South Dakota Governor’s Conference on Tourism will be held January 20-21, 2010, at the Ramkota River Centre in Pierre. All members of the state’s visitor industry are encouraged to attend the event, which is organized by the South Dakota Office of Tourism. This year’s theme is “Destination 2010 and Beyond.”
In addition to expert-led sessions, there will be a banquet on Thursday evening to present tourism awards. Nomination forms for the annual awards, the Ben Black Elk Award and the A.H. Pankow Award, are available at www.SDVisit.com

The annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism is part of Goal 1 of the 2010 Initiative to double visitor spending in South Dakota from 2003-2010. The Office of Tourism serves under the direction of Richard Benda, secretary of the Department of Tourism and State Development.
