Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of summer, and the South Dakota State Historical Society is extending the hours the museum is open at the Cultural Heritage Center. Starting Tuesday, May 26, and running up to Labor Day, September 7, the museum will be open Monday-Friday from 9 am to 6:30 pm and Sundays and holidays from 1 to 4:30 pm.
The Cultural Heritage Center will be open Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day from 1-4:30 pm. The museum is open seven days a week and closed only on New Years Day, Easter, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. The public hours in the archives research room remain unchanged.
