On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10th, you will be able to visit the Mammoth Site and all the new exhibits free with two cans of food.
Last years Mother’s Day KOTA Care and Share at the Mammoth Site was such a success that we will be doing it again this year. In 2008, we received 1,000 pounds of food for the Hot Springs Food Pantry. We are going to try to beat that this year.
Additional exhibits such as the new Pygmy Elephant Skeleton Mount, Bonebed Map Touchscreen Kiosk, Overspill (a new theory on extinction based on an extra-terrestrial impact event), and Extinction is Forever (well maybe not), based on the recent DNA work woolly mammoths maybe brought back within ten years.
The Mammoth Site is open 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with the last tour leaving at 4:00 p.m. Summer hours, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. start May 15.
