King and Queen of Deadwood's Mardi Gras Selected

DEADWOOD, S.D. - In a coronation ceremony in front of a large crowd of revelers Thursday night at Cadillac Jack's Gaming Resort in Deadwood, Rapid City's Bobby Rock and Tracey Williams were chosen as the 2009 King and Queen of Mardi Gras.

Mardi Gras continues tonight with the People's Parade at 7 p.m. on Main Street in Deadwood followed by a costume contest at the Silverado. On Saturday, events kick-off with the Cajun Cook-Off at 2 p.m. at various locations throughout Deadwood and Lead. There is also the first annual Cake Decorating Contest, which is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lucky Nugget Gambling Hall. The annual Parade of Lights will begin at 7 p.m.
