Sioux Falls, S.D. –The morning skyline will fill with balloons as more than 30 hot-air balloons are set to take flight over Sioux Falls, Saturday, June 13, 2009. (Weather permitting). The Great Plains Balloon Race is a wonderful family spectacle that everyone from kids to great-grandparents will enjoy... and, as always, it’s FREE!
Launch times are scheduled for approximately 6:00am and 6:30pm from KennyAndersonPark (3rd and Bahnson); just west of WashingtonHigh School. If these two flights are not able to take place the pilots will try again on Sunday, June 14th at 6:00am.
Once again this year the very popular “Walk-in Balloon” will be inflated so that people can walk around the inside of an actual hot air balloon! Pilots and balloon crew will be on hand to answer questions about ballooning.
Balloons from across the region will participate in this competitive, fun-filled race.
