Dakota Spirit was founded in 1997 by Robin Fritsch. It was the first organized youth cheerleading program in the state and functions as a Christian organization. Our program is open to all students in grades K-12 regardless of experience. Team members will learn motion technique, basic tumbling, voice use, stunts, safety, cheers, dance, jumps, teamwork, and performance skills in a Christian environment. Dakota Spirit recently moved into a newly built 11,200 square foot training facility with choreography services, high school training sessions, tumbling classes, all star teams, and recreational classes. Dakota Spirit remains on the cutting edge of cheerleading and has received state, regional, and national awards.
The program has a tradition of excellence and a veteran staff to lead the way into 2009.
The Dakota Spirit coaches and team members are able to do live interviews. We hold practices Monday—Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in our new gym located at 3910 West 59th Street, Sioux Falls, SD.
