PIERRE, S.D. – Applications are now being accepted for a new multi-media press release cooperative program offered by the South Dakota Office of Tourism.
The multi-media press release (MMPR) combines the traditional press release format with social media elements including photos, videos and social bookmarking links such as Digg and Google Bookmark. Partners in the co-op will receive help in developing and writing the release.
“The Office of Tourism released eight multi-media press releases in 2008 that enjoyed great success,” said Richard Benda, secretary of the Department of Tourism and State Development. “These releases were met with much interest from the media, and have proven to be a valuable resource for sharing the South Dakota story with a national audience.”
Additional partner benefits will include:
- 30-second video clip
- Up to four downloadable photos
- Customized distribution list
- Analytics report to determine success and return on investment
The MMPR co-op program is part of Goal 1 of the 2010 initiative to double visitor spending in South Dakota.
