Office of Tourism Employee Chosen for Regional Board

PIERRE, S.D. – Tim Binder, Marketing Research Analyst with the South Dakota Office of Tourism, has been chosen to serve as Secretary of the Board for the CenStates Chapter of the Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA).

"The Office of Tourism is proud to recognize Tim for this honor," said Richard Benda, secretary of the Department of Tourism and State Development. "His dedication, expertise and industry knowledge have proven to be a strong asset to the Office of Tourism team."
Tim has been with the Office of Tourism since January of 2007. In that time, Tim has been involved in research, e-marketing and data analysis efforts.

"It is a distinct honor to have been chosen for this position, and I look forward to serving both the state of South Dakota and the other 13 states of the CenStates chapter," said Tim Binder, Marketing Research Analyst for the South Dakota Office of Tourism. "This organization has already enhanced my effectiveness as a tourism researcher and will continue to be a vital asset to both the Office of Tourism and the State."

Tim recently attended the 2008 TTRA Annual Conference, June 13-18, with over 300 of the world’s Travel and Tourism researchers, marketers and planners for three days of sharing, learning and networking.

The Travel and Tourism Research Association is an international network of over 800 tourism research and marketing professionals. By sharing ideas, resources and experience, members are able to develop more effective business and marketing strategies.

CenStates is the regional chapter of TTRA that focuses on the issues concerning Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
