Tourism Industry Holds Training Workshops

PIERRE, S.D. – Hospitality, leadership and industry trends are the focus of training workshops being held across South Dakota in upcoming weeks.
“In a state where tourism is the second largest industry, these training workshops are an important tool,” said Secretary Richard Benda, Department of Tourism and State Development. “Through this training, our frontline employees, managers and owners can sharpen their skills and gear up for another successful year.”
Training workshops will be held in the following communities:
May 8 – Chamberlain, 10-11:30 a.m.; Cost: $10
May 13 – Sioux Falls, 11:30 a.m.; Cost: $30, includes lunch
May 13-14 – Pierre, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., 8 a.m.-Noon; Cost: $349
May 14 – Chamberlain, 9 a.m.-Noon, 1-4 p.m.; Cost: $10
May 14 – Spearfish, 8:30 a.m.-Noon, 1-4:30 p.m.; Cost: $5
May 20 – Watertown, 8:30-10 a.m.; Cost: $15
May 21 – Rapid City, 10 a.m.-Noon; Cost: $15, includes lunch
May 27-28 – FortSissetonState Park, 2-5 p.m., 9 a.m.-Noon; Cost: $5
June 3 – Keystone, 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Cost: $5
June 11 – Wall, 10-11 a.m., 2-3 p.m.; Cost: Free
