Enhanced Tourism Web Site Promotes South Dakota Campgrounds
PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Office of Tourism, in partnership with the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks (SD GFP) and the South Dakota Campground Owners Association (SDCOA), has launched a new section of
The new section,, provides essential information to visitors wanting to enjoy South Dakota campgrounds, and offers information on campground amenities.  Content also includes campground contact information, a booking link if available, an email link, Web site link and campground description.
“The new section of the tourism Web site presents all of South Dakota’s camping information in one central location,” said South Dakota Department of Tourism and State Development Secretary Richard Benda.  “We’re pleased that the State was able to partner with public and private campgrounds in South Dakota in order to provide such a comprehensive tool.”
The new camping section incorporates information from SDCOA members, and the SD GFP campgrounds.  It offers any member of the South Dakota camping industry a free listing.
“With more travelers planning their vacations online, this site allows South Dakota to provide yet another level of convenience for our visitors,” said South Dakota Office of Tourism Director Melissa Bump.
The new camping section of is part of Goal 1 of the 2010 Initiative to double visitor spending in South Dakota.
