Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo - Not Just for Cowboys

MITCHELL, S.D. The Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo begins today with entertainment, rodeo and other activities.  The event, named a Top 100 Event by the American Bus Association, will be held in Mitchell this weekend, and it’s not too late to make the trip.
As one of four Great Events promoted by the South Dakota Office of Tourism, the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo features several PRCA rodeo events such as bull- and bronc-riding, barrel racing, pole bending and team roping. For a break from the rodeo action, the weekend event also features a parade, nightly entertainment and more.
These are just a few of the activities available during the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo:
Friday, July 20
  • 8 a.m. – Slack
  • 8 p.m. – Rodeo performance
Saturday, July 21
  • 10:30 a.m. – Rodeo parade
  • 8 p.m. – Rodeo performance
Sunday, July 22
  • 10 a.m. – Cowboy church service
  • 12:30 p.m. – Chili Cook-off & Country Music Showdown
  • 8 p.m. – Rodeo performance
