Gold Wing National Rally Coming to Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, SDThe Gold Wing Touring Association’s (GWTA) annual national Gold Rush Rally will be held in Sioux FallsJuly 16-19, 2007 at the Sioux FallsConvention CenterThe four-day event is projected to bring over 1,400 Gold Wing motorcyclists to Sioux Falls to celebrate their 20th Rally Anniversary, creating an estimated economic impact to the community of nearly $1 million.    
Rally goers will participate in a thrilling week of activities. On Tuesday, July 17 GWTA will spend the afternoon at Wild Water West Waterpark, tailgate at MidAmerica Motoplex and catch the American Association All-Star Game. After the baseball game, the motorcycles will parade through the city. Motorcycle enthusiasts are welcome to watch the parade after the game. The parade route will follow Western Ave. to 18th Street then north on Phillips Avenue to FallsPark and will continue to the southeast side of town.       
There will be a bike show on Wednesday, July 18 at 2:30 p.m. in the Convention Center parking lot for the public to attend. Then the fun moves downtown to Hot Summer Nites where the Gold Wings will be part of the action with drill team performances. The drill teams will be performing on Phillips Avenue between 8th and 9th streets at
6:30 p.m.
After Hot Summer Nites, the party shifts to FallsPark. After the Wells Fargo Sound and Light Show on Wednesday, the Gold Wings will be showing off their special motorcycle lights in the Overlook Café parking lot.
GWTA Executive Director, Bruce Keenon is available to all media late Friday afternoon July 13 and Saturday, July 14 - Monday, July 16 before 8 a.m. and after 11 a.m. for any interviews. Gold Wing drill team bike rides are available (first come/first serve) for media during their performance to allow the reporter to record their experience. For more details, contact Bruce at 317-201-4982 regarding interviews and rides.
