KEYSTONE, S.D. – In celebration of National Park Week, Mount Rushmore National Memorial welcomes the public with open doors on Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Come meet the superintendent, talk with park personnel and members of the Mount Rushmore Society team, experience the new award winning audio tour, and find out what goes on behind the scenes of the facilities and offices at the memorial.
The Open House will include a news conference with Superintendent Baker, a ribbon cutting for the audio tour kickoff, and an open house of all administrative areas at Headquarters. A schedule of events is listed below. Free parking sponsored by the Mount Rushmore National Memorial Society will be available all day. The breakfast, ribbon cutting, news conference, and fireside chat will take place in the dining room of Xanterra’s Carver’s Café.
