Tourism Conference 2008: Save the Date!

PIERRE, S.D. – The 2008 South Dakota Governor’s Conference on Tourism will be held Jan. 16-17 at the Ramkota RiverCentre in Pierre. South Dakota Office of Tourism organizes the event and encourages all members of the state’s visitor industry to attend. This year’s theme is “Destination 2010: Driving Forward.”

In addition to expert-led sessions there will be a banquet on Thursday evening to present annual awards. Nomination forms for the two annual awards, the Ben Black Elk Award and A.H. Pankow Award, are available on Deadline to submit a nomination is September 4, 2007.

The Tourism Conference is a key component of Goal 1 of the 2010 initiative to double visitor spending in South Dakota. The Office of Tourism serves under the direction of Richard Benda, Secretary of the Department of Tourism and State Development.
