PIERRE, S.D. – Conveniently located on Interstate 29 between Sioux Falls and Mitchell, Hanson County is a worthy hunting destination. This agriculturally-based region hosts the communities of Alexandria, Emery, Fulton, Farmer and Riverside.
Avid hunters know that Hanson County is a great destination for prime hunting grounds, whether at a lodge, on a preserve or on public land. Each fall, the area comes alive with pheasant hunters taking aim at the healthy fowl population. Enjoy classic country scenery on back roads throughout the county.
For those visitors with a preference for history, there are several locations within Hanson County listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
