SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Opening on Friday, March 2 and running until May 6 in Gallery B & C of the Visual Arts Center at the Washington Pavilion is the Washington Pavilion High School Art Show. An opening reception will be held Sat., Mar. 3, 1- 4 p.m. and is open to the public. The Visual Arts Center (VAC) followed a unique vision when it organized this new special exhibition. The Washington Pavilion High School Art Show may be unlike any other high school art exhibit previously seen by gallery visitors. The student art is exhibited with the same care and attention to presentation and lighting that are given by the VAC to artworks created by professional artists. Seeing student art professionally presented in a museum setting challenges our commonly held preconceptions. The exhibition encourages gallery visitors to view the student artwork in a totally new light. Many visitors may be surprised at the creativity and skill of our area art students. The high schools participating in this special exhibition include Beresford High School, Brandon Valley High School, Dell Rapids High School, Joe Foss High School, Freeman Academy, Harrisburg High School, Lincoln High School, O’Gorman High School, Roosevelt High School and Washington High School. ### EDITOR’S NOTE: Images are available online at www.washingtonpavilion.org.
