Third Performance Added for Broadway Hit The Producers

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The much anticipated blockbuster Broadway musical comedy, The Producers, coming to the Washington Pavilion as part of the Husby Series performance season on Tues., Mar. 13 and Wed., Mar. 14 at 7 p.m. has turned into a three performance affair. Officials at the Pavilion announced today that due to enthusiastic interest and the availability of an open date, a third performance on Thurs., Mar. 15 at 7 p.m. has been added. Good seats are still available for the performances on Mar. 13 and 14 and are on sale now. Tickets for the Mar. 15 performance go on sale Sat., Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. “We knew when we first added The Producers to the line-up of the Husby Series that there would be a great deal of interest from the community and region—this is a huge Broadway hit,” said Steven A. Hoffman, Director and CEO of the Washington Pavilion. “Adding a third performance allows even more people to enjoy this smash hit.” The Producers – The new Mel Brooks musical has won more Tony Awards than any show in Broadway history. Based on the Academy Award winning 1968 film of the same name, The Producers is the story of down-on-his-luck theatrical producer Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, his mousy accountant. Together they hatch a plan to raise more money than necessary for a sure fire Broadway flop and pocket the difference. The Producers is probably the most request musical ever brought to the Pavilion. It is full of gags, gimmicks, brilliant choreography and unforgettable music. Among its record 12 Tony Awards, The Producers won Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Choreography and Best Direction of a Musical.
