Bear Butte State Park
Sturgis, SD
Located six miles northeast of Sturgis off S.D. Highway 79. It's Lakota name is ''Mato Paha,'' which means ''Bear Mountain.'' Bear Butte is a Native American worship site. It is also a National Historic Landmark and a National Natural Landmark.
