AirVenture Cup Race
The public is invited to Wright Brothers Aviation on July 26th to view a wide range of these experimental aircrafts, listen to speakers, talk with the pilots and head back to watch the launch on Sunday July 27th. All activities are free of charge.
The Airventure Cup is the World's largest Cross Country Air Race. 2014 is the 17th running of this race. The Airventure Cup Race is flown to unite aviation's rich history with its promising future.
The race course has brought together some of aviation's most historic places, originally from Kill Devil Hills, to the home of the Wright Brothers, Dayton, Ohio, and onto the current home of Sport Aviation, the EAA Airventure Fly-In Convention in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This year the race returns once again to Mitchell, SD.
2014 is the 4th year the Airventure Cup will be run from the Mitchell, South Dakota airport, (KMHE), and we are looking forward to a safe and exciting race this year.
Cross-country air racing is a fun and exciting sport for any pilot. Founded in 1998, this has become one of the most successful racing events in aviation.
Pilots of every background come together for the AirVenture Cup Race, one of the most successful racing events in aviation. Participating pilots begin the race in Mitchell, SD and end in Oshkosh, WI.
