Finn Fest

Frederick, SD

Gather your family and head to Frederick, South Dakota, on June 15-16 for the town’s sixth Finn Fest! The event includes many ways to celebrate midsummer (juhannus), some traditionally Finnish and some just plain fun. This focus this year is on family fun, with lots of games and contests for kids. We'll have the traditional wife-carrying contest, boot toss, and cell phone throwing contest (all traditional Finnish sports). Enjoy great music from local talent, Finnish food, plus the beautiful traditional bonfire on the water. A service at Savo Lutheran Church and a meal and program at historic Savo Hall will follow on Sunday. A full schedule will be published closer to the event on www.finnfest.net.
