Nisland is located 15 miles east of Belle Fourche in western South Dakota. In 1986, its Butte/Lawrence Co. Fairgrounds was added to the National Registrar of Historic Places for its unique architectural features. The fairground’s octagonal shaped Pavilion, food court, rodeo arena, livestock barns and racetracks have played an important role in shaping the last 85 years of the town’s history.
