Letcher is located in rural South Dakota, north of the town of Mitchell. Letcher covers a land area of approximately 0.6 square miles, of which 6.25% is water. Visitors can canoe in Letcher Lake or enjoy time at the Twin Lakes State Recreation Area in nearby Woonsocket.
