Located in north central South Dakota, Eureka is the birthplace of USA Today Founder, Al Neuharth. It’s also where the idea started to make Kuchen the state dessert of South Dakota.
The town sits on the shores of Eureka Lake and is known for its German-Russian Schmeckfest held every fall.
