Claremont, in the Glacial Lakes and Prairies Region, is close to the Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge. As many as one million snow geese can stopover at the refuge during the fall and spring migrations.

Other points of interest nearby are the Granary Rural Cultural Center near the town of Groton and Storybook Land in Aberdeen.
