Our visitor's center and cave entrance are located just off Highway 16 about 10 minutes south of Rapid City on the way to Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota.Visitors will be completely surrounded by the world's largest Dogtooth Spur Crystals-some as monstrous as T-Rex teeth. Experience the feeling of walking through "a giant geode". Owned and operated by Duhamel family for over 70 years. The tour is considered strenuous and takes about 45 minutes! Tour consists of185 (370 steps round trip) - narrow steps down-same stairway coming out. GUEST MUST SUPPLY CARRIERS/BACKPACKS FOR CHILDREN 3 AND UNDER Should not be attempted by people in poor physical condition, afraid of heights or claustrophobic.
